HTC Desire HD and Incredible S Gingerbread Update now available through OTA

HTC promised back in February that Gingerbread update for HTC Desire HD, Desire Z, Desire and Incredible S in Q2. To keep the promise HTC just begun with the HTC Desire HD and Incredible S Gingerbread Update OTA. If you own any of them and has active data connection by now you should have received the a notification of FOTA, if not then just mannually check for the update by hitting setting button> scroll down to about phone, tap and check for update. The update itself  is about 100MB, so fully charge and backup your phone before doing the update and be sure to do it on a WifFi connection otherwise  you will pay a lot for large 3G data consumption. After installing the update, you can confirm a successful update by confirming the Build number (From the Home Screen go to MENU> Settings> About Phone> Software Information> Software number). The new Build number after the update will be 2.36.405.5. Android 2.3 upgrade. Enjoy the latest Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread magic.

Download Updated Google Maps with Navigation for your Android

Google Maps with Navigation Beta just Updated to v5.4.0 for Android Devices. The latest  version brings improved performance and some new features such as:

Download Google Talk Video Chat apk for your Android Smartphone (How to install)

As you already last week Google announced updated Android 2.3.4 version of Gingerbread which brings Google Talk with Video Chat to Nexus S users, do you feel little jealous to Nexus S users having GTalk Video Chat? Well, if you are one of those Android Smartphone owner who running Gingerbread or install a Custom Gingerbread ROM on the phone are in luck! As expected from xda community a member named britiso made Google Talk Video Chat apk available to download which will only work on Smartphone running Android 2.3. So if you are one of the lucky person follow the instruction below:

NOTE: You must have a rooted Android phone.
1. Download the flashable .ZIP file and place it to the root of your sdcard
2. Using ROM Manager (or a similar ROM flashing utility or from recovery options) flash the .ZIP
3. Reboot.
4. Enjoy the new version of Google Talk with Video chat.

NFC capable HTC Sensation successor arrives in Q3 2011

HTC’s latest flagship Smartphone HTC Sensation yet to be reach it’s potential customer, a sales manager from HTC confirmed HTC planning to bring NFC-capable high-end smartphone to market in the 3rd quarter of 2011 which would be the successor of HTC Sensation. It seems very true as early rumors also suggested HTC to bring a LTE and NFC capable Smartphone in second half of 2011.

NFC (Near Filed Communication) based device is use to provide a painless payment system, which allow you to tag any product with NFC capable devices such smartphones. All you have to do is just hold your device to the product’s tag and it will give you all necessary information including prices, the same way you can just make payment by holding your Smartphone near a device in the cashier.

Nokia has been placing NFC in their devices for quite some time now, but somehow NFC were ignored to widely use in marketing. But recently Google working to develop a whole new market of NFC with integration of Google Checkout. Thus, it is no surprise that a lot of companies see huge potential in this space. Even giant Apple also planning to equipped NFC in their upcoming iPhone. The only NFC capable Android Smartphone is Nexus S made by Smasung in collaboration of Google. Android 3.1 Honeycomb Update coming in few days? Adobe released finalized version of Flash 10.2 for Honeycomb

Adobe Flash Player 10.2 comes out of beta for Honeycomb Tablets. Adobe just made available the updated version of Flash Player 10.2 for Honeycomb on Android Market. The latest update has important bug with security enhancements and also bring Hardware Accelerated Video presentation, Enhanced browser integration for Honeycomb Tablets. Interestingly in Android Market description both updates shown as requires Android 3.1 (as you can see on the image above) which is not yet released or no clue from Google yet. Though in few hours Adobe edited the description and changed it to Android 3 (image below), but how does it sound to you?

The reality is current version of Android OS not even take the full advantages of dual core CPU, so we think Google may have to Update Android OS to a higher level before company’s start to make those fancy quad core Smartphones.
