Verizon DROID Incredible 4G Enters the MAP Process

We’ve long heard rumors of one HTC Droid Incredible 4G ready to make its way to store shelves, but outsides mere mention of the device’s name we’re not exactly sure what to expect. We’re expecting a variant of the HTC One X with LTE, of course, but anything could be the case. The device has just been subjected to MAP (minimum advertised price) which usually means Verizon is getting close to figuring out an advertising campaign (and, by association, that the device is nearly finished and ready for mass production).

HTC 'Droid Incredible 4G' appears in Verizon internal screen

The "Droid Incredible 4G" name has appeared a couple of times over the past few months, suggesting the imminent arrival of a new entry in HTC and Big Red's Droid Incredible series. Back in February we even got our first look at what seems to be a Droid Incredible-like device with Verizon 4G LTE connectivity.

Today there's even more evidence to suggest that a new Dinc may be on the way. A Verizon internal document sent to us by a tipster references the HTC Droid Incredible 4G and its model number, ADR6410. There's also some slightly less interesting stuff about MAP (minimum advertised price) policy, though no specific prices to speak of at this stage.

With the HTC One X and One S coming to Europe in the next week, and a U.S. launch likely within the next month, it makes sense for Verizon to get its own next-gen HTC handset in the near future. Purported specs include a 1.2GHz dual-core CPU, 1GB of RAM and an 8MP shooter. Like the One S, the display is said to be AMOLED-based rather than One X's SLCD2. On the software side, we'd expect to see Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and Sense 4.0.

Sounds a lot like a 4G LTE version of the One S to us. Verizon people, be sure to drop by the comments and let us know if you're tempted.

Thanks, Anon!

HTC Desire HD and Incredible S Gingerbread Update now available through OTA

HTC promised back in February that Gingerbread update for HTC Desire HD, Desire Z, Desire and Incredible S in Q2. To keep the promise HTC just begun with the HTC Desire HD and Incredible S Gingerbread Update OTA. If you own any of them and has active data connection by now you should have received the a notification of FOTA, if not then just mannually check for the update by hitting setting button> scroll down to about phone, tap and check for update. The update itself  is about 100MB, so fully charge and backup your phone before doing the update and be sure to do it on a WifFi connection otherwise  you will pay a lot for large 3G data consumption. After installing the update, you can confirm a successful update by confirming the Build number (From the Home Screen go to MENU> Settings> About Phone> Software Information> Software number). The new Build number after the update will be 2.36.405.5. Android 2.3 upgrade. Enjoy the latest Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread magic.

The other two devices on the list Desire Z and Desire S will also expected to follow the Gingerbread Update soon. Stay tuned with us at Facebook and Twitter to keep yourself updated on latest HTC. source.
